Suggested Tracks within the Economics major
Economics majors who wish to focus their studies may wish to choose their elective courses to focus on a particular area. These tracks are optional – they are not required for the major and will not appear on transcripts or diplomas, but can be shown on a resume.
Note that it may not always be possible to complete an intended track due to course scheduling and availability, closed courses, prerequisite requirements, etc. Special Permission cannot be given to complete a track.
Actuarial Economics The following courses (along with Introduction to Microeconomics and Introduction to Macroeconomics) will satisfy the Actuarial VEE requirements. It is highly recommended that students interested in actuarial science consult with an advisor regarding additional mathematics and statistics courses required and may wish to pursue the Certificate in Quantitative Economics as well.
