The Department of Economics is a research active group of faculty and students. Our faculty is internationally known in a wide variety of fields. Department members have garnered numerous national and international awards and are invited speakers at research conferences and university seminars around the globe.
Our undergraduate program is one of the most popular at New Brunswick, with over 12,000 enrollments per year, over 1000 majors and over 600 minors every year. Many of our undergraduates also complete our honors program or one of our many certificate programs. Wall Street (the finance industry more broadly), law schools, and graduate school are common post-college paths.
The success of our graduate program can be measured by the job placements and career success of our students. In addition to our academic placements in the United States and across the globe, our graduate students are found in numerous government agencies, NGOs, think-tanks, and a myriad of private sector employers (from consulting and banking to hedge funds and money management).
