Zhifeng Cai is a macroeconomist whose research focuses on the role of financial frictions in shaping aggregate fluctuations. His current work studies how a persistent slump in real-estate prices could contribute to a secular stagnation like what we observed after the 2008 financial crisis. Another line of his research investigates the implications of rising income inequality on college tuition.

Ruonan Xu is an Assistant Professor specializing in Econometrics. She joined the Department of Economics in Fall 2020. Her current research focuses on finite population inference with cross-sectional dependence. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University in 2020 and B.A. in Mathematical Economics from Fudan University in 2015.

Carlos Esquivel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Rutgers University. He received his B.A. in Economics from ITAM in 2012 and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 2020. His research focuses on international macroeconomics and international finance.
